Role: Routing & Switching Engineer

 

Location: RTP, NC

Duration: 12 Months Contract.

Rate: $45/hr

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

• The position you will be filling is responsible for planning, developing and implementing custom test plans for service provider solutions. This will involve working with the architecture/design team, analyzing new solution requirements, writing test plans, building test lab configurations, executing and automating test cases, and documenting results.
• Need to interface with all facets of solution architecture/design team, development engineering and test engineering and identify key gaps for end-to-end solution Integration and testing. Research and develop new methods to automate solution testing.

 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

• 6+ years related experience in provisioning, managing and coordinating medium to large-scale Service Provider networks. Cisco experience preferred, typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.

SKILLS:

• In-depth knowledge and strong operating experience in the following:  Routing & Switching, MPLS technologies, LAN switching,  L4-7 technologies, Unix/Linux experience.
• Good understanding and hands on experience in the following inter networking technologies IGP(ISIS/OSPF/EIGRP), BGP/EGP, Multicast, MPLS, STP, L2 switching. Good hands-on experience on Cisco platforms such as GSR, CRS, ASR9k, ASR1k, Nexus7k etc.
• Working knowledge of Cisco inter networking products is desired. Should have knowledge of Layer-2 , Layer-3 technologies and operations of test tools for traffic generation, multimedia traffic analysis would be a plus. Prefer to have in-depth SP technology experience.
• CCIE Certification is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
