Position: Windows Administrator
Location: Herndon, VA
Duration: 6 Months+
Responsibilities:
• Install, manage and configure Windows server technologies such as IIS, Active Directory, SQL server, App-V, etc.
• Design and deploy network based software installs and updates – managing thousands of machines automatically.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support for an always-on worldwide service.
• Work hand-in-hand with software development team to ensure the system is designed for operability.
• Author scripts to automate all aspects of system deployment, monitoring and alarming.
• Design and implement security policies to keep data and systems safe from intrusion or denial of service.
• Keep the service up and always running as users require 24x7 access!
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5-7 years industry experience.
• Intimate knowledge of Windows Server technologies including Windows Server 2008, Active Directory, SQL Server, SCOM, App-V and more.
• Demonstrated ability to write scripts and use automated tools to manage large-scale deployments.
• Experience with virtual machine environments: one or more of EC2, Rackspace, VMware or others.
• Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP networks: routing, firewalls, DNS, load balancing and redundancy, etc.
• Direct experience in large-scale hosted computing environment managing hundreds of machines or more.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent.
• Microsoft Certified Professional
