Position: Network Security Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration : 6 Months +

 

Job Description:

 

Senior Network Security Engineer to support Network Design and  Deployment of Network Security Products

 

Skill set:

 

1.       This person must have rock solid routing, switching and firewalls. This individual will be part of a team responsible for, network trend analysis, process improvement, and providing proactive network remediation using the tools and techniques available.

2.       The role also includes support for standards development and problem management.

3.       This role requires collaboration with architecture, engineering and implementation teams to deliver new Security services and network security technologies.

4.       The Ability to automate/script network security deployments will definitely be a plus.

5.       Since this is a senior position, candidates with below additional capabilities and skillsets would be in key consideration for the position as the position will grow into a technical leadership role as the candidate will play a key role in the formation of long range strategies.

6.       The position will require a candidate to collaborate with internal and external groups both with regard to network infrastructure

7.       In-depth knowledge of Network technologies such as security, network segregation planning, WAN routing, Switching, datacenter networking, network tooling.

 

Core requirements of the position:

 

·         Expert in understanding Firewall Deployments and

·         Network Traffic Trend Analysis

·         Proactive Network Remediation for Network Security Threats.

·         To Implement and Manage IDS / IPS solution.

·         To maintain a firewall rule base and align it to industry best practices.

·         Hardening of security devices.

·         Collaboration with Network Security Engineering and Security Architecture for release of new configurations

·         Perform Network traffic analysis and alleviate bottlenecks

·         Maintaining network compliance with SOX/PCI requirements as well as auditing the network for adherence to engineering standards

·         Experiences and competencies in people management, mentoring and coaching and being a trusted advisor to other members in the team would an added plus.

·         Audit, Analyze and recommend configuration changes on the Firewalls  (Cisco ASA)

 

Qualifications:

 

·         A BS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience) and a minimum of 3 years demonstrated and relevant work in field

·         Minimum 3 years direct experience with Cisco switches, routers & firewalls.

·         Strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking solutions for very large enterprises

·         Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in enterprise environments

·         Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP routing protocols

·         Expertise in Firewalls, load balancing technologies

·         Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols including SNMP, RMON, IPSEC, HTTP, and HTTPS

·         Excellent verbal communications and writing skills

·         Ability to provide mentorship to technical Implementation plans

·         Experience with Network Management procedures and tools

·         Strong lineup of Industry (Cisco/Checkpoint) Certifications. CCSA, CCSP, CISSP etc.
