Requirement / Responsibilities:

 

We have an urgent need for a Linux Administrator who is strong in support applications to work in Chicago, IL, New York, or NJ. The client prefers someone to have the Linux Admin background but will consider someone with Sun Solaris.  Resources should be strong in supporting Applications in a Sun Solaris/Linux environment.

 

We need a strong Linux Administrator who has experience with scripting and supporting applications in a Linux environment. Candidates must have 8 plus years of experience with Linux.  Any experience with BigData is a plus.

 

·         Customer is looking for a strong administrator in either Unix or Linux environment – Preferably someone with 8-10yrs of experience in Unix/Linux environment with a preference to Linux environment. (On a 1-10 scale, 10 being expert, the admins should be a minimum of 8)

·         Bigdata/Hadoop experience is not a must, and candidate selection is NOT based on this experience

·         Shell Scripting, networking, NAS/SAN and JAVA knowledge

·         Though the requirement is that of an admin the job demands a lot of support activities (As a Technical Application Support Engineer, you will provide support to our customers for diagnosing, reproducing, and fixing issues  related to Hadoop, Asterdata, Palantir, Greenplum and other AAA platforms. You will troubleshoot the platforms  in multiple types of environments and take ownership of problem isolation and resolution, and bug reporting. To be successful in this role, you must be a motivated self-starter, be committed to ongoing self-education, possess strong customer service skills and have excellent technical problem solving skills.)
