Title: Senior SQL Consultant / DBA

Must Have Skills:

  • 8+ -10 years of experience in SQL Server 2000/2005/2008R2/2012 and MSBI technologies and of which 3-4 years of exclusive experience as  a Database administrator/admin
  • Should have extensive experience in SQL Server/components installation/up-gradation, maintenance & security/administration, performance monitoring and optimization, capacity planning, devising backup and recovery strategy, deployment etc
  • Experience leading projects in a Data Warehouse environment utilizing Microsoft Business Intelligence suits and multi-dimensional interactive environments, essentially SQL Server 2008 and 2012 , PDW
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and planning skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills critical

Job Roles / Responsibilities:     

  • Load and unload data, manage database elements including schemas, databases, tables paces, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and declarative integrity constraints.
  • Monitor processor and memory resource utilization and forecast future resource requirements.
  • Create and execute scripts for various database maintenance activities
  • Configuration of Database scripts in version control software and responsible for deployment of database objects in various environments (DEV, TEST, DEV INT)
  • Perform database tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance of the databases. This includes working with the logical database administrators and the applications groups to improve database performance.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of all supporting documentation, which will be maintained in Client defined repositories to be identified during knowledge transfer period
  • Develop and Maintain inventory of all software components (Server, database, DB scripts, SSIS) across multiple environments (DEV, TEST, DEV INT)
  • Review of queries/scripts developed by developers/testers to make changes in ETL configuration tables and provide support to them by executing queries/scripts
  • Adhere to CCIT standards and audit processes

Administration:

  • Communicate plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis.
  • Adhere to and enforce CCIT standards, policies, procedures and industry best practices
