Position: PeopleSoft HCM T/F Consultant (Self-Service & Pension Admin Module)
Location: Washington DC
Duration: 6 Months
Background Information:
Pension Administration Division (PENAD) at the Client is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Staff Retirement Plan of the Client Group. To assist the staff of PENAD in carrying out their fiduciary responsibilities; a number of IT systems have been engaged. Primary business functions are carried out in PeopleSoft, and Documentum is the document management system. Within PENAD there is a four member Systems team that is responsible for the maintenance and functioning of the IT systems.
While Treasury provides the workstations and network support, the major software systems used by PENAD, namely PeopleSoft and Documentum are owned and maintained by IMT (Information Management and Technology of the Client). IMT provides all DBA, code migration to production and General IT infrastructure support to PENAD systems team.
Current Pension System was built twelve years ago based on the Gross Plan requirements. With the introduction of Net Plan and subsequent major and frequent Plan amendments, lot of retrofitting and patch work has gone into the system. This is making the system very difficult to maintain and enhancements very cumbersome. During each amendment, major systems team involvement is required and there is a delay in automating the new functionalities. This hampers the business as manual processing has to be done with risk of backlogs. In the current system, it is not always possible to incorporate the new technologies such as Component Interface, Workflow etc. now available with the PeopleSoft platform. This mode of operation is not sustainable in the long run hence the need to develop a New System. After careful review, a decision was made to continue to maintain an in-house Pension System using the PeopleSoft platform and its sophisticated set of tools.
The New Pension System project will design and develop a completely New Pension System which will replace the existing Pension Administration System in PeopleSoft and automate several manual processes.
A PENAD systems staff will lead the project, however the project will need external resources to meet deadline.
