Position: SharePoint Architect
Location: Troy , MI
Duration: 6 Months +
 
Education/Experience:
 
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience within a medium to large size company performing SharePoint Administration and / or Business Analysis for projects that leverage SharePoint Enterprise in a multi-farm deployment supporting at least 500 users.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience developing solutions leveraging CSS, DHTML, .Net, Java, PowerShell, InfoPath, SP Designer, and Workflows in a SharePoint environment that supported at least 500 users.
- Must have expert understanding of SharePoint software and supporting technologies such as Microsoft SQL 2008 and Microsoft Search and third party administration tools.
- Must have solid understanding of Knowledge Management, Information Management, SaaS, Business Intelligence, integration, portals, mobile computing, etc.
- Must have excellent time management skills
- Must have excellent data analysis and workflow skills
- A B.A./B.S. in computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Diplomas or certifications in the Information Technology field would be highly preferred
 
Overview:
 
- The SharePoint Architect's role is to provide a point of contact for the analysis, design, and implementation of enterprise applications that leverage SharePoint technologies that serve the enterprise. 
- The SharePoint Architect's role will include gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, implementing and supporting systems that leverage SharePoint. It also includes administrative tasks such as writing technical specifications and maintaining documentation. This position will be called on frequently to perform complex functions and analyses, and is expected to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity at all times.
- The SharePoint Architect must participate fully, and may be called on to lead, in matters related to project management, incident management, change management and customer relationship management with regard to SharePoint platform.  Other functions include non-standard projects related to: mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, audit and legal investigations, etc.
 
Dimensions:
 
- This position will work extensively on SharePoint and Web systems at the Troy World Headquarters, supporting the whole enterprise.  Resource assistance will be provided to other Information Services areas as required. This includes the areas of the Business Solutions, Application Service Delivery, Infrastructure Service Delivery, and Business Support teams.
 
Principle Accountabilities:
 
- Perform analysis and diagnoses of problems in business systems, gather and analyze requirements, design, and recommend solutions leveraging SharePoint. At times - coordinate implementations using 3rd party providers.
- Engage with third party service providers to deliver I.S. systems that support SharePoint, including off-shore development teams and professional service providers.
- Maintain technical specifications and diagrams for the SharePoint Platform at Meritor.
- Provide analytical support, perform research and development functions, and develop and maintain associated documentation.
- Recommend technology tools and applications for use on-site and company wide.
- Collaborative with peers on continuous improvement objectives.
- Provide technical roadmap input assistance on selected systems.
- Participates, and sometimes leads, in matters related to project management, incident management, change management and customer relationship management
- Perform functional, analytical and project management related tasks when involved in non-standard projects such as: mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, audit and legal investigations, etc.
- Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, education, systems outages, disaster recovery situations and other emergency situations.
- Manage Export Controlled systems.
