Position: Backup Engineer - HP Data Protector
Location: Wilmington, DE
Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description :

Technical Requirements:        

• Ability to manage Backup infrastructure.                               
  
• Installation & configuration of HP Data Protector (backup s/w).                  
  
• SAP/Oracle/SQL/Exchange/VMware/NDMP Integration with HP Data Protector.                               
• Backup/restoration of Unix/Windows Host                          
• Backup/Restore for SAP/Oracle/SQL/Exchange Database, VMware/NDMP                          
• Configuring/Managing & Troubleshooting Disk Based Backup with HP Data Protector.                     
• Managing Internal Database of HP Data protector.                           
• Managing & Troubleshooting Virtual Tape Library                             
• Managing & Troubleshooting High End and Midrange Tape Libraries                        
  
• Knowledge of D2D replication                    
• License Management on HP Data Protector                         
• Comfortable in opening case with HP and driving them to closure.                            
• Liaise and work with hardware/software vendors and project groups as required.                            
• Analyze and resolve escalated problems within target. Trouble shooting Backup related problems and alerts monitoring.                                            

Other Skills / Experience

• Experience on Production systems                                         
  
• Experience with Storage Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching                                        
• Datacenter understanding                                  
• Knowledge of Other Backup tool is a Plus                                     
  
• Working Knowledge on HPUX  OS                                                                        
  

Years of Experience:                                        

• Above 6+ Years of experience                                              
  
• Minimum 5-8 Years relevant working knowledge of  HP DP .                                 
• Strong Backup concepts.Good Exposure to Enterprise Class Tape Libraries. Good Exposure to VTL & Other Disk Based Backup Solution                                         
• Good Exposure on Monitoring & Troubleshooting Backup related Issues.                                                                         
  

Certifications (not mandatory):                                                          

• Certification on HP DP, Any other Backup certification
