Position: Backup Engineer
Location: Wilmington, DE
Duration: 6 Months

 

Technical Requirements:       

 

- Ability to manage Backup infrastructure.                              
- Installation & configuration of HP Data Protector (backup s/w).                 
- SAP/Oracle/SQL/Exchange/VMware/NDMP Integration with HP Data Protector.                              
- Backup/restoration of Unix/Windows Host                         
- Backup/Restore for SAP/Oracle/SQL/Exchange Database, VMware/NDMP                         
- Configuring/Managing & Troubleshooting Disk Based Backup with HP Data Protector.                    
- Managing Internal Database of HP Data protector.                          
- Managing & Troubleshooting Virtual Tape Library                            
- Managing & Troubleshooting High End and Midrange Tape Libraries                       
- Knowledge of D2D replication                   
- License Management on HP Data Protector                        
- Comfortable in opening case with HP and driving them to closure.                           
- Liaise and work with hardware/software vendors and project groups as required.                           
- Analyze and resolve escalated problems within target. Trouble shooting Backup related problems and alerts monitoring.                               
- Should work with vendor on new trends and measure to cut cost, time and improve productivity.                           
- Vendor management                   
- Lesion with vendor – technically and commercially                          
- Work with vendor on new trend and measure to cut cost, time and improve productivity                            

 

Other Skills / Experience                                                                                     

 

- Worked on Production systems                                        
- Experience with Storage Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching                                       
- Datacenter understanding                                 
- Knowledge of Other Backup tool is a Plus                                    
- Working Knowledge on HPUX  OS                                   

 

Years of Experience:                                                                                

 

- Total        :  Above 6+ Years of experience                                             
- Relavant :   Minimum 5-8 Years relevant working knowledge of  HP DP .                                
- Strong Backup concepts.Good Exposure to Enterprise Class Tape Libraries. Good Exposure to VTL & Other Disk Based Backup Solution                                        
- Good Exposure on Monitoring & Troubleshooting Backup related Issues.                                           

 

Certification requirements (not mandatory)  :                                   

 

- Certification on HP DP, Any other Backup certification
