Position                 : Sr. Java/ J2EE Consultant

Location                : Fort Worth, TX

Duration                : Long Term

 

Summary:

Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs utilizing software packages considered. Responsible for designing software or customizing software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. The technical skills include the knowledge of computer hardware and software.

Education/Experience
o Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent training required
o 8-10 years experience required

Responsibility level
o Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor

Skills

 

·          Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)

·          Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)

·          Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)

·          Strong knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software (Required)

·          Strong knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models (Required)

·          Strong knowledge of niche computer software, such as Oracle, etc (Required)

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and approve modifications to existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
• Review and approve the design and development of software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and

consequences of design

• Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration
• Counsel customers about software system design and maintenance
• Counsel systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation
• Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel
  
  
• Experience in Agile methodology and understanding of software development life cycle(SDLC) (2+)
• Experience in using Rally is desired. (2+)
• Experience working with offshore resources is a plus
• Strong background in Object Oriented analysis and design
• Experience in UML and Design patterns
• Strong background in core java, advanced java and j2ee (8+)
• Knowledge using Spring framework, Web services and ORM (4+)
• Knowledge in relational databases like Oracle or Postgres (4+)
