Job Description:
The ETL Architect is responsible for defining and delivering the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) strategy, processes, and technology solution to support cross-boundary data-to-data integration, and ETL with the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment. The ETL Architect is responsible for ensuring the technical direction and architecture complies with guidelines and restrictions for Client’s leveraged environments. The ETL Architect will lead efforts to define and develop technical standards for data movement and transformation as well as review all designs to ensure those standards are met. The ETL Architect provides guidance and expertise to resolve technical issues.
Job Responsibilities:
The Extract Transform Load (ETL) Architect:
•You will be accountable for design, planning, implementation, upgrades, performance tuning, communication, and architectural documentation.
•Primarily accountable with working team members to design solutions that are cost-effective, secure and produce high levels of customer satisfaction
•Performs a combination of systems analysis, project management, and workflow management
•Interacts within general guidelines in a broad scope of responsibility to recommend, design, develop, and implement information systems that meet objectives within functional areas of responsibility
•Internal interaction is frequently with both operational end users of information technology and divisional heads.
Background and Experience Requirements:
•At least 8-10 years overall experience in IT applications development or consulting related to IT applications development
•Min 5-7 years of experience with Expertise in Data modeling for Data Warehouse/Data Mart development, Data Analysis for Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Data Warehousing (OLAP)/Business Intelligence (BI) applications.
•Sufficient OBIEE/OBIA implementation knowledge with ETL experience.
•Providing advanced technical expertise in the development and maintenance of data and analytic systems.
•Conceptualizing and creating development and operational models that encompass the ERP (EBS or Peoplesoft 8.x/9.x) HRMS ETL and direction, including the ownership of a “blueprint” by which to guide future development and decision-making.
•Defining and delivering consistent ETL standards, methodologies, guidelines & techniques.
•Preparing template ETL design specifications and developing complex and critical ETL routines.
•Diagnosing complex problems, including performance issues, and driving to resolution.
•Developing time and resource estimates for ETL initiatives, from analysis through deploy. Following the progress of ETL development and how it meets estimate and actual timelines.
•Preparing integration and acceptance test plans.
•Collaborating with Data Architects to develop coordinated plans to meet business requirements.
•Providing oversight of ETL developers, including mentoring, task assignment, specification review, unit test plan review, and problem resolution.
•Experience in extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data from spreadsheets, database tables and other sources using Informatica and other tools.
•Providing team leadership in the development of advanced or complex architecture, design, and development.
•Must have custom application experience.
•Good to have vertica database experience.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Education Requirements:
•Should have Bachelor degree and with related experience.
