Title: AIX Administrator – Level 3

Location:Pleasanton, CA

Duration: long term

Rate: DOE

 

Description:

·         Relevant IBM AIX experience of 5-6 Years.

·         Sound knowledge in IBM AIX Operating system.

·         Able to co-ordinate installation & Configuration of AIX Operating system with Hardware vendors. Setting up NIM server for unattended installations and backup using mksysb.

·         Able to handle most of basic to advanced calls in User, group management, system start-up, service modification, crontab entires, ACL modifications, file system and disk storage management (using LVM), root & ignite backups.

·         Should have working knowledge in performance tuning, clustering etc., for enterprise databases and database applications.

·         Should have good understanding of any proactive monitoring tools and ticketing tool.

·         Good ITIL process knowledge and understanding of call flow in call login, tracking, and closure procedures.

·         Exposure to any ITSM tool like HP SM or Remedy preferred.

·         Should have used any backup management software i.e.  TSM, and have basic understanding of any storage technologies.

·         Should have good communication skills, team working skills & require shift operations.

·         Good hands on experience in patch management including firmware and service pack upgrades.

·         Understanding of virtualization in AIX including LPAR's and VIOS.

·         Centralized naming services like NIS and LDAP.

·         Basic understanding of SAN fabric, storage and backup.

 

Hands on exposure on HMC and FSP.

·         Day to day administration tasks on High end servers & Virtualized environment

·         Changing kernel parameters

·         Understanding of SAN / NAS environment

·         Network configuration, Multipathing, trunking and troubleshooting using OS commands

·         Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue

·         Knowledge about various FS like JFS, VxFS, Pseudo FS and day-to-day tasks related to it
