This is Upender working with Systel Inc, My mail is regarding a job opportunity with one of our client @ Sunnyvale, CA  for a 6  months contract. Below is the job description please go through it and let me know any consultants available with you.

 

Position : Oracle DBA

Location : Sunnyvale, CA

Duration : 4-6 Months

 

Required Skills:

            

•    DBA in Data warehousing & Tuning experience

•    Very good knowledge of oracle internals

•    Parameter set-up for Data warehousing environment

•    Knowledge about Oracle Parallel execution, Oracle multi-level partitioning (partition wise joins, split, merge, partition exchange, etc.) and Oracle Wait Events

•    UNIX Shell scripting

 

Desired Skills:   

 

•    Experience working with Oracle Grid Control (good to have)

•    Good knowledge of Data warehouse concepts. (good to have)

•    Expert in database instance and query tuning. (good to have)

•    Knowledge of NetApp storage knowledge and AIX background is preferred. (Good to have)           

  

Job Description :

 

•    Should have very good knowledge of oracle internals (Must have) to solve complex oracle database performance problems (good to have).

•    In-depth knowledge of working on Oracle AWR, ASH and ADDM tools. (good to have)

•    Very good knowledge of Oracle 10/11g INIT parameters pertaining to Oracle data warehouse.

•    Oracle Data warehouse performance tuning in terms of understanding query rewrite, materialized views, snapshots, aggregation, schema modeling, resource and profile management (good to have)

•    Knowledge about Oracle Parallel execution, Oracle multi-level partitioning (partition wise joins, split, merge, partition exchange, etc) and Oracle Wait Events.

•    Experience working with Oracle Grid Control (good to have)

•    Good knowledge of Data warehouse concepts. (good to have)

•    Expert in database instance and query tuning. (good to have)

Responsibility

 

•    Proactively monitor database instance and perform AWR report analysis.

•    Proactively monitor ETL jobs performance, find offending queries / jobs.

•    Working closely with team to solve complex performance problems.

•    Work with  ETL team  (DataStage / Pentaho) and BI reporting team to guide, educate and tune queries

•    Complex SQL tuning.

•    physical data modeling

•    Design, manage and test materialized views and aggregates

•    Provide L4 production support and solve on P1/ P2 issues.
