Position           : Sr. ETL Developer

Location          : Anaheim, CA

Duration          : 6+ Months Contract

 

 

The Senior Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) Developer will be responsible for ETL Design and Development within the DW / BI team. In addition, this ETL resource will also be gathering and performing analysis on the information and business process requirements necessary to support data and structures in the environment.  Furthermore, this individual will be responsible for researching production issues as part of support for existing systems.

 

Responsibilities:

• Create functional requirements documents based on business requirements
• Create Data Lineage / Source-to-Target mappings with appropriate data rules and transformation Translate functional requirements into technical specifications for design of Data Marts/Data warehouses and Extract, Transform, Load workflow mappings, Perform Data Profiling on new source system(s), data research / analysis, and gap analysis
• Design ETL processes and develop / modify ETL programs based on technical specifications
• Evaluate processes and best usages for Informatica transformations like Lookup, Joiner, Rank, Filter, Router, etc.
• Perform unit, integration and regression testing
• Counsel fellow Developers on applications of data analysis, data cleansing, data matching, exception handling, reporting and monitoring capabilities of the evaluation of data using Informatica Data Quality (IDQ)
• Design and develop ETL Load Audit Control Architecture and processes for reporting and monitoring
• Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
• Assist with day-to-day operational tasks related to team responsibilities, and provide both ongoing and off-hour support and maintenance on ETL / DW solutions

 

Qualifications:

• 8 - 10 years experience working with the Informatica Toolset
• Source and Target database:  Oracle, DB2, Teradata, XML files
• Experience with of SDLC and ETL development methodology
• Experience in development using SQL and PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, User-Defined Functions (UDFs), Unix and Shell scripts
• Strong understanding of different Data Models such as Relational ER vs. Star Schema design
• Ability to communicate and interface with Application Owners, other IT Professionals and fellow team members, and translate business requirements
• Ability to perform as BSA capacity to gather business and functional requirements
• Responsive to business needs and highly motivated to improve the skills and capabilities of his/her organization, and total IT delivery
• Good knowledge of analytical and logical conceptual level programming skills
• Strong problem-solving ability, identify gaps, mitigate risks and recommend solutions
• Good time management and organization skills including the ability to work independently, support several projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Visio
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration with emphasis in Information System
• Experience with WebMethods a plus

Job Description:
This position will be part of IPS' EFT Technology Architecture Team.  The resource will be primary resource supporting Golden Gate ( Oracle ) Database Replication Subsystem.  Immediate tasks include:

 

• Configuration of GGS Subsystem on Blades platform consistent with Integrity platform
• Design and execution of strategy to migrate clients from Integrity to Blades
•Standardization of GGS configurations across all clients on Integrity platform
•Upgrade of GGS on Integrity platform from version 7 to version 11

 

 
In addition to these engineering functions, this team member will need to:
•Provide 7 x 24 third-level support
•Mentor junior team apprentices
 

 

Resource must have:
•At least three years of experience with Golden Gate Software
•Experience with Extractors running against TMF logs

 

 
Ideal resource will also have:
