Position: Cisco Unified Computing Specialist

Duration: 6 + months or Full Time

Location: Cincinnati OH or Melbourne FL (ordered by preference)

 

Job Description:

 

 

We are looking for an experienced 3rd line Converged Infrastructure/Virtualization technician, responsibilities will include:

 

·         Provide technical expertise and experience to design, support and develop the Cisco UCS, Nexus and VMware vSphere solutions

·         Take a lead role in the implementation of new UCS/Converged Infrastructure environments for Pre-Production and Production in the UK and US

·         Provide technical expertise and experience to support and develop the hosted VMware vSphere Virtual Infrastructure and Cisco Nexus 1000v VDS solution

·         Liaison with customers, IT Teams and external vendors

·         Working within the ITIL & ISO27001 framework

 

Candidates should come to the role with:

 

Essential

·         Cisco UCS - UCS Environment: be confident in the management and configuration of Cisco UCS hardware and service profiles in a production environment, along with troubleshooting common issues

·         Cisco Nexus - Confident in the management and configuration of a Cisco Nexus 5000, 2000 and 1000v environments, should have good understanding of key concepts like vPC, HSRP, ISSU, FCoE and MDS SAN switch configuration.

·         vSphere/VMware View - Should have good knowledge and experience in configuring VMware vSphere in a DRS/HA clustered environment. Should have good understanding of using the following features in a production environment: HA, DRS, VUM, Resource Pools. VMware View.

·         Ability to administer Windows and LINUX systems for the purposes of design, build and troubleshooting the converged infrastructure solution

 

Desirable

·         Knowledge and experience of supporting NetApp vFiler SAN Solutions would be an advantage.

·         Knowledge and experience of supporting Red Hat Linux would be a distinct advantage.
