Description:

Position: C/C++ Firmware Developer (embedded firmware application)- GPP Engineer
Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: Long Term

Requirements:

• BSCS, BSCE required or equivalent experience.
  
• MS Desirable
• Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience with embedded firmware.
  
• Must have a strong firmware development background.
• Proficiency with C/C++ programming language and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) required
  
• Experience with software emulators/debuggers required.
  
• Proficiency with multi-threaded design and/or real-time operating systems is required.
  
• Experience with flash file systems, XML, networking protocols and/or Ethernet switching
  
• Experience with wireless communications systems is highly preferred.
  
• Knowledge of IP Networking and Wireless Networking desirable.
  
• Ability to work on site for durations of time to meet critical milestones and HW/SW integration activities (with the exception of HF development mentioned above where onsite presence is needed).
  
• Participate in team status meetings and design reviews.
  

Responsibilities:

• Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer engineering, electrical engineering, and mathematical analysis. �
  
• Analyzes requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. �
• Consults with electrical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software/firmware, and operational performance requirements of the overall system.
• Planning, design, implementation, test, and maintain embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment.
• Execution of software development process in CMMI Level 3 environment.
  
• Perform software/firmware component integration.
• Participation and lead peer reviews.
  
• Identifying, tracking and repairing defects.
