Position: DB2 DBA Consultant
Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 3 Months +
 
Required Skills:
 
The Database Administrator will assume responsibility for the DB2 UDB/LUW system software in Red Hat Linux, AIX,Solaris environment.
- Install, maintain, configure, and run the DB2 LUW system software and related DB2 administration tools.
- Migrating Databases from older versions to newer versions.
- Investigate and resolve problems in production and non-production environments.
- Monitor, set up and manage DB2 backup/restore/replication procedures.
- Experience with SQL replication between DB2 LUW and DB2 Z/os.
- Experience with SQL Replication between DB2 LUW and Federated sources like SQL Server.
- Knowledge in DPF.
- Assist with the physical design of DB2 database systems.
- Monitor database size and performance in production and non-production environments.
- Interpret internal or external business issues and recommends best practices.
- Use initiative and a consultative approach to solve complex problems and identify innovative solutions.
- Work with DB2 on AIX environments if needed.
- Provide on-call support as necessary.
 
Secondary Skills:
Should be having knowledge in oracle/SQL server.
