Position: Infrastructure Architect – Retail

Location: Morrisville, NC

Duration: 3 Months+

 

Experience Level: 10 + years in IT is needed

 

Retail Experience is Must.

 

Technical Skill Areas – AIX, Z10 Mainframe, Wintel, EMC Storage, IBM Tivoli Monitoring Tools, Virtualization, Cloud Computing

 

The IT Architect works under minimal supervision, and collaborates with the business and IT stakeholders to develop a detailed understanding of Environment. Experience in IT Infrastructure in Retail Stores environment comprising of AIX servers, Z 10 Mainframe, EMC storage, Windows servers, Cisco Devices and Point of sale devices is needed. Experience in IBM Tivoli Monitoring tool set is needed. The architect evaluates targeted solutions to be consistent with architectural standards and best practices; provides technical leadership in tactical planning and participates in the strategic planning. This individual identifies opportunities and is responsible for documenting the current IT environment and come up with detailed road map on IT comprising of Windows, AIX.,EMC Storage. Familiarity on AIX, Windows virtualization is needed.

 

The architect will set direction for the usage of enterprise software components and frameworks; and effectively articulate multiple views of Lowe's application architecture within Lowe's. The architect will provide oversight to project-level solution development efforts of strategic impact to Lowe's, perform quality reviews and measure adherence to enterprise architecture guidelines and procedures, to ensure consistent and coherent implementations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Person would support analysis and recommendations around efficiency, consolidation and augmentation

·         Explore Virtualization of Platforms.

·         Review DR/High Availability of Platforms, process technologies

·         Create Roadmap for Data center – perform assessment of current state and make recommendations for future state.

·         Assist in cloud computing and Virtualization strategies.

·         This person needs to be articulate and needs to take direction well along with being collaborative with others in track and across tracks.
