Title: Performance Engineer W/.NET and SQL Server Experience

Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: Long Term

Rate: DOE

 

The primary responsibilities of this position include

·         Establish performance base line and measure system performance for ETL, Cube, and reporting applications (Excel based, Web based, etc.)

·         Gather performance testing requirements from customers across different projects, identify performance goals, and establish the best performance testing practices to be used across the teams

·         Conduct application baseline performance review to gather performance metrics and identify application bottlenecks

·         Conduct application network analysis to identify network bottlenecks and test (model) WAN performance

·         Develop automated performance test scripts using Visual Studio or other load simulation tools such as LoadRunner

·         Execute performance stress tests to identify and isolate application performance bottlenecks under simulated multi-user workloads

·         Execute performance scalability tests to measure the scalability (performance saturation point) of applications

·         Provide proven, technical recommendations to improve application performance

·         Present test results to customers detailing performance SLA violations and recommendations

·         Design tools to assist with performance test automation; establish performance automation framework

·         Establish a performance monitoring  process and provide the monthly metrics to leadership team

·         Analyze and propose current and future hardware requirements based on the performance goals

·         Mentor junior team members to enhance their performance testing skills

 

Qualifications:

·         At least 4 years of expertise testing and doing performance analysis of Business Intelligence systems

·         Working experiences in .NET and SQL Server

·         Familiar with IIS Log, Performance Monitor, Network Monitor, SQL Profiler and load simulation tools is a plus

·         Strong independent project management and problem solving skills

·         Communications excellence including cross collaboration, presentation and documentation

·         Architect mindset - able to look at the performance aspects on different levels - zoom in (project specific) and zoom out (Org specific)

·         Leadership aptitude
