Position: Sybase Developer
Location: Chantilly, VA
Duration: 6-12 Months
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 5-7 + years of database application experience including Sybase SQL Anywhere 12.
- Participate in specification, design, documentation, code reviews and testing for new projects/enhancements.
- Build database schema, tables, views, procedures, triggers, events and permissions. Familiarity with cursors, temporary tables and materialized views is a must.
- Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency, using Index Tuning, Application Profiling and other methods. Must have a strong background in query optimizations.
- Troubleshoot, debug and fix existing Transact-SQL code. Familiarity with Watcom is desired.
- Have the ability to examine and quickly learn existing data models, business logic and processes.
- Install and test upgrade and patch scripts on both development and production environments.
- Have excellent analytical, problem solving, and code-reading skills.
- Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form.
- Solid professional references a must.
