Title: Linux Administrator

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 8+months

Rate: $45 on C2C All inclusive

 

Linux System Administrator to install, maintain and monitor multiple servers and the applications running on the servers.

This includes the operating system (Linux), hardware, and application installation, monitoring and backups.

This position is responsible for providing 24/7 Linux/Solaris and application support on a rotating basis.

The applicant must have strong communication skills and a vast knowledge in system troubleshooting and support.

 

Qualifications:

·         BS or AS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline and generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field equivalent experience.  Will consider work experience in lieu of degree. 

·         Linux and/or Solaris skills (4-6 years systems administration).

·         Experience in a multi-tiered, distributed and diverse infrastructure a must

·         Must have experience in environments that are larger than 2000 servers.

·         System level programming in Shell/Perl scripting (4-6 years)

·         Fundamental networking skills and basic network troubleshooting skills (1-3 years).

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Ability to work with minimal direction, yet able to work in a team environment.

·         A high level of experience in systems and network problem solving.

·         Advanced knowledge of OS troubleshooting, kernel tweaking and system automation.

 

Experience with the following considered a plus:

·         VMware

·         Nagios / Zenoss

·         REGEX
