Position : Sr. BI/Data Warehouse QA Analyst
Location : Sunnyvale, CA
Duration : 12+ Months
· At least 6-8 years commercial experience in testing large scale data warehouse, ETL, data conversion and/or data migration testing
· Acts as a lead in the creation, preparation, and conduct of quality assurance reviews and the development and execution of test plans and test scripts.
· Is familiar with data creation and able to read and understand a data model, BRD, source to target mapping doc
· Knowledge of software development life cycle principles including Agile practices
· Understanding of Unit, Functional, System, Performance, Technical and Operational testing and the tools utilized
· Analyzes, tests, and certifies data and performs ambiguity reviews of business requirements and functional specification documents.
· Uses advanced knowledge of applications to provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving highly complex test problems.
· Logs, tracks, and verifies resolution of ETL code & specification defects.
· Documents all phases of QA process.
· Knowledge of key database concepts, data models, relationships between different types of data, multi-dimensional model.
· Solid understanding of theories, principles, processes, practices, and tools, including data quality, data modeling.
· Works with client to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology and to resolve questions during the testing process.
· Must be able to translate the requirements or Business logic to the ETL design.
Basic Qualification:
· 6+ years IT quality assurance and systems/application testing experience.
· Solid basic understanding of relational databases and SQL. is a must.
· Good understanding of data warehouse concept (multidimensional model)
· Good understanding of requirement and technical experience with Data warehousing / databases.
· Demonstrated experience with Defect Tracking System (ie: ALM and ClearQuest)
· 3+ years' experience of test plan and scripts development
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
· Hands on experience in writing SQL queries and shell scripts.
· Experience using any ETL and Business Intelligence tools such as Informatica, Data Stage, OBIEE Cognos, Business Objects etc.
Desired Qualification
· Good Experience on scrum/agile model and self driven
· Knowledge of CDH and TrueComp will be highly desirable.
· Good Communication skills
· Expertise working in a Unix environment required.
· Report testing experience using sql, pl/sql.
