Location - NJ, Atlanta or San Jose

Experience

·    Solution Architect with excellent understanding of Cable core and access network and with 10 or more years of experience in working with large Cable Operator / MSO in this area.

 

Mandatory Skills

·    Strong 'Cable' domain knowledge skills and experience in triple play technologies (video, voice and data)

·    Excellent Technical knowledge of Hybrid Fiber Coax cable plant technologies, video transmission equipment (QAM, IRD, Encoders etc.) and STBs and with extensive hands-on experience with the same.

·    Excellent understanding of video network eco-system, video products and packages supporting broadcast video, data and SIP Telephony.

·    Experience in working with a broadcast operation center for a MSO.

·    Excellent Knowledge of CableLabs DOCSIS and PacketCable architectures and familiar with functions such as Policy control, Media Gateway (MG), Media Gateway Controller (MGC), Call Management Server (CMS), Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS), Session Border Controller (SBC), Signaling Gateway (SG), Voicemail.

·    Good knowledge of Voice over IP including Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and SIPConnect.

·    Good understanding of IP Multimedia Sub-system (IMS) and PacketCable 2.0 specifications.

·    Ability to understand business requirements, architect solution, prepare call flows and network diagrams.

·    Hands on experience with DOCSIS and PacketCable components from different vendor such as Arris, NSN, Huawei etc.

·    Good Understanding of TV Everywhere (TVE).

·    Good understanding of wireless technologies such as WiFi.

·    Experience in deployment and configuration of vendor components.

·    Good awareness of global trends and technologies in the cable industry.

·    Self-motivated and result-oriented, good team player.

·    Strong written and verbal skills.

·    Excellent communication and presentation skills.

·    Proficient with MS Office tools.

 

Desired Skills

·    Understanding of Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) as an access technology.

·    Good understanding and experience of PSTN network and SS7 signaling.

·    Familiarity with latest technological trends in IPTV and Cloud computing.

·    Methodology experience: Rational Unified Process (RUP), Extreme Programming (XP), Waterfall, Agile

 

Position requires to:

·    Analyze business requirements and needs, RFPs and apply domain knowledge in cable and network systems and prepare solutions that address those requirements and needs.

·    Track trends in the cable industry across the globe, design proactive propositions to be taken to market and drive the team for solution development.

·    Establish solution lab and develop proof of concept demonstrations.
