Position: PeopleSoft Administrator (HCM Module)
Location: Washington .D.C.
Duration: 6 Months+
 
Description:
 
As part of the re-implementation of PeopleSoft 9.1 admin team, the consultant will help to support and coordinate building Peoplesoft environment and the upkeep and maintenance of the Peoplesoft technical landscape  including servers, database, application tiers etc. This involves application optimization, application monitoring, patch management, configuration, project migrations, and other relevant activities. The admin team works closely with the technical team and other groups to investigate and resolve any issues ensuring high availability and scalability of the Peoplesoft applications. A complete list of the scope/objectives of the self services lead will include:
 
 Responsible for the PeopleSoft technology and software infrastructure, and problem solving across a variety of technologies and teams.
 Participate in system software upgrade, in addition to installation of software, software updates and patches, working closely with the technical team.
 Provide guidance and technical expertise to a team of PeopleSoft application developers, especially in the areas of design, performance, development standards and techniques, and best practices from the PeopleSoft community.
 Define procedures to monitor the PeopleSoft platform, set in place automated monitoring mechanisms, and monitor the system proactively.
 Participate in the design of PeopleSoft platform subsystems and integration with other systems.
 Design, plan and test planned PeopleSoft configuration changes and upgrades.
 Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and standards.
 Maintain the reliability and performance of the PeopleSoft applications systems environment.
 Work closely with the PeopleSoft team and other technical teams to ensure robust integration among systems. Coordinate problem resolution across the different teams that support the PeopleSoft infrastructure (servers, network, operating systems, databases, middleware).
 Migrate PeopleSoft projects.
 Work seamlessly with the PeopleSoft administrators in supporting the PeopleSoft platform.
 Assess and provide recommendations on leveraging evolving technologies in the PeopleSoft platform space.
 Prepare documentation for system audits and implement audit recommendations.
 
Criteria:
 
 B.Sc / B. E / B. Tech in software or systems engineering, computer science, information systems management or equivalent. A Masters degree in software or systems engineering, computer science, information systems management or equivalent would be preferred.
 
 Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience as a PeopleSoft administrator.
 Highly self-directed and able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing challenges, issues and ambiguities.
 Have up-to-date knowledge of the evolution in PeopleSoft, Oracle and related technologies, including its adaptability to changing business needs.
 Good knowledge of Oracle, PL/SQL and performance optimization techniques in the PeopleSoft environment.
 Thorough understanding of technical infrastructure standards and requirements for the integration of PeopleSoft modules.
 Proficiency in PeopleCode, Application Engine, Application Designer, PeopleSoft Workflow, PeopleSoft Security.
 Proficiency in Oracle SQL and Oracle technology, including Materialized Views, Partitioning, Triggers, and Security. Professional Oracle certification would be a definite plus.
 Expertise in
Unix commands, including scripting, crontab and system monitoring.
 Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Demonstrated team player with a results oriented track record, with the maturity to escalate issues as needed.
 Demonstrated openness to change and ability to manage complexities, with proven ability to learn new functionality and technologies quickly.
 Experience in delivering quality-centric support and solutions  Knowledge of compliance requirements with financial system controls and audits  Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
