Since there is overseas travel required, maybe GCs or Citizens might work out better. We need a resource who can be part of transition after which needs to travel to India for 3 to 4 weeks to do the replication (Train others), come back to US, be with us for us for additional month or two and then move out. You can look at a good contractor. We need to get this guy within a week.

Position: VMWare Consultant
Location: Torrance, CA
Duration: 6+ Months
Job Description:
7-9 Years' experience in administering Windows 2000/ 2003/2008 Server and Active Directory.
Will be responsible for the maintenance RIMM Project (Including Remote Installation and Maintenance of existing setup / Server / Servers and installation of new setup / Server / Servers).
Deal with Hardware vendors like SUN / HP / Dell /. Following up with Vendors hardware & software whenever required & resolve issues by minimizing downtimes.
Responsible for Root cause analysis
Responsible for Resolving Escalated issue.
Will have to report the daily issues handled / escalated in the form of Daily reports.
Will make sure that the Tickets raised per shift are closed in the required time limits and escalated as per the escalation Matrix.
Knowledge on ESX servers from command line
Monitoring and Performance analysis on ESX Servers and VMs
Patching of ESX severs and VMs with VMware Update manager
Allocation of storage spaces to VMs through SAN
Ability to work with VSPHERE / VMware Consolidated Backup / Virtual machine backups
Hands on experience on VERITAS Cluster/Volume manager on Windows
Hands on experience on Citrix Xen App
Hands on experience on VM Ware View and VM Ware Thin Apps
Basic understanding usage/management SCCM for windows patch management.
For Transition only following with be the Job Description
Maintain and support and virtual desktops environment running Windows XP and Windows 7
Install and maintain ESX environments, Virtual center, VMs running on different OS platforms.
Install and maintain VM Ware View(VDI), VM Ware Thing App Infrastructure.
Develops, tests, installs, and modifies the current VDI infrastructure.
Has a very good understanding of technologies associated to VMWare, Storage, networking, Windows etc.
Capable to size, implement and support large VMWare VDI environments.
Install, configure and manage VMware View, VMware Thin Apps Environment.
Install, configure and manage VMware ESX hosts
Desktop imaging and VDI pool creation in a VMware View environment.
Patching of servers and virtual desktop images.
Adding applications to virtual desktop images.
Must have handled transitions, good documentation skills
