Ability to develop and execute system backup and recovery procedures and plans
Thorough knowledge of installation, maintenance, configuration of system software and system operating systems
Thorough knowledge in performance and tuning techniques
Able to adapt and self-educate on new technologies to provide assistance and/or recommendations regarding its usage
Job Description
Perform system administration activities of an iSeries (AS400) environment
Develop management level reports, workflow processes, and key performance indicators (KP) on the iSeries (AS400) platform
Enforces and monitors the backup and recovery plan
Enables the techniques and tools to automate the save-and-restore procedures
Maintains reliable documentation for changes made to the system
Responsible for performance monitoring, analysis, and turning
Responsible for database management
Provide technical assistance to internal and external users
Able to be available (on-call), including holidays and weekends, as necessary
Evaluates new and existing software products
May perform as team lead or project manager in assigned area
Defines system software and hardware requirements
