Title: Java developer W/Application Support Experience

Key skills : Minimum set of things to look for:

• Unix shell scripting, working experience on AIX/HP-UX/Sun Solaris or any other UNIX flavors. Linux is great but not a must
• Experience supporting applications in a J2EE environment (should understand performance/scalability issues, must be able to troubleshoot production problems, debug code, etc). Need not be a developer (though if we can sign up a developer to do this also will work)
• Experience handling databases (Oracle/My SQL/etc.). Working experience in Hadoop and/or Cassandra is great but not must.
• Good communication skills

Must Have Skills:

• 5 years of relevant work experience, including with Unix/Linux systems requiring the use of languages like Java
• Strong debugging skills in Core Java      
• Experience in J2EE, JAX-RS, Web Services
• Technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience
• 4-5 years relevant work experience, including in a high-volume or critical production service environment
• Experience in OSes and systems (e.g. UNIX internals, device drivers), open source tools (e.g. dtrace, ktrace), web service components (e.g. load balancing, LAMP stack), storage and clustering (e.g. column stores, Hadoop), scripting and programming languages
• Experience in coordinating cross-team technical engineering initiatives
• Experience with Big Data – Cassandra, Cloudera etc is a plus
