Position: Disaster Recovery Analyst
Location: Midland, MI
Duration: 8 Months
A Disaster Recovery Analyst with the understanding and knowledge of IT infrastructure and a demonstrated ability to transform business continuity requirements into disaster avoidance & recovery solution that will meet the needs of the enterprise.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Leverage best practices and provide technical expertise to lead the development of a data center disaster recovery execution plan and processes, which includes:
o Recovery strategies based on risk and business impact analysis
o Priorities for processing and operations
o Documented policies, processes and procedures
· Coordinate the development of the detailed plans for the recovery and testing of the systems.
· Coordinate the execution of a disaster recovery testing process.
· Train internal personnel to maintain disaster recovery processes and execute bi-yearly testing.
· Responsible to work with internal Client Project Leadership to ensure Disaster Recovery project deliverables on-time and on-budget.
· Responsible to Disaster Recovery processes are documented and transitioned successfully to IT Operations.
Skills:
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of current disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies as well as the methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses.
· Working knowledge of key Information technology platforms in order to facilitate and assist preparation of recovery procedures in this area.
o SAP (ECC, SCM, XI, GTS,etc.)
o Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System and VMWare
o Oracle Linux Operating System, Oracle VM and Oracle RAC
o EMC Symmetrix Technologies
· Working knowledge of data and voice telecommunications in order to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures in this area.
· Good project management skills. The ability to plan, organize and direct the testing of emergency response, recovery support, and business resumption procedures.
· Strong human relations skills to interface with managers and staff at all levels within the organization and to deal with vendors of record storage facilities and disaster recovery services.
