Position: Network Engineer – Cisco Data
Location 1 : Glenn Rose, TX (1 position)
Location 2 : Dallas, TX (2 positions)
Duration: 6 Months +
Position Details:
We have an immediate opportunity for a network engineer with strong experience in Cisco (CCNA, CCNP or above) who is passionate about infrastructure service and delivery. You would be responsible for implementing and upgrading new network infrastructure components and troubleshooting problems therein. You'll get to install new network hardware and software to support our projects in a fast-paced environment with complex, cutting edge tools to implement and support secure communications networks. In this role you will be part of a professional Network team tasked with designing, testing, implementing, operating, installing and troubleshooting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• 6+ years Cisco Network Engineering experience with routers, switches, LAN, WAN, and dynamic routing protocols (BGP, and EIGRP)
• Experience with designing and implementing network environments for projects as assigned.
• Extensive Hands on experience with Implementing, configuring and supporting highly complex multi-layered Network environments
• Maintain complete documentation of network configurations and changes.
• Expert level understanding and experience with configuring and troubleshooting GRE/IPSEC, Dynamic Multiport VPN (DMVPN)
• Must be an expert on Cisco ASR's, Nexus, Catalyst 6500's, stack switches, CGR 2010, Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Routers product line.
• Ability to develop and document detailed lab test plans and reports, document procedures and new configurations, provide training for operations departments and other engineers, provide written troubleshooting, debugging, and problem detail to vendors.
• Senior/expert experience with routing protocols, specifically BGP and EIGRP
• Advanced knowledge of network virtualization technologies including MPLS, VRF, VLAN, VSS
• Advanced level understanding and experience with Cisco firewall and load balancer technologies.
• Prepare and maintain technical specifications and documents, Visio's, and system documentation.
• Plan, Stage, Test and verify all changes to ensure changes occur without interruption. Track projects and report status to appropriate management.
• Experience working with different ISPs to resolve communications issues and Escalation of issues to SME as appropriate to ensure best practices and systems up-time.
• Good organizational skills and process oriented and capable of setting forth guidelines, policies and procedures in their area of work.
• Must be able to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical peers and management.
• Enterprise network monitoring tools including Solarwinds Orion & Engineer's Toolkit, NNM and CiscoWorks LMS
• Prepares proposal documentation and information to meet customer requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to:
Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Technology, or a closely related field.
Certification: CCNA or CCNP expert required

Demonstrates experience implementing preventative maintenance routines, including implementation of patches and iOS upgrades.
