Position Title               : Abinitio Developer

Location                      : Washington, DC

Duration                       : 6 months

 

Job Description:

Developer performs high complexity (i.e. system level applications) analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from user requirements and design documents. The candidate also resolves defects encountered during various testing cycles.

Candidate Responsibilities:
-The candidate performs analysis, design, development and unit testing of data warehouse solutions from user requirements and design documents.
-Work with business users to translate requirements into system flows, data flows, data mappings etc., and develop solutions to complex business problems
-Interact with Release Management, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Database Modeling Support, other Development teams and Operations as required
-The candidate will work on production support as well

Candidate Requirements:
-7+ years of hands-on experience in design and development of large scale warehouse solutions out of which at least 5 years must be in ETL using Ab-Initio
-Very strong Unix and shell scripting experience are required
-Strong development analysis skills
-Strong programming experience with SQL and Oracle databases
-Strong in MS Excel creating charts and using pivot tables
-Strong job scheduling experience using AutoSys
-Familiarity with Business Objects is a plus
-Strong experience in Data Quality, Source Systems Analysis, Business Rules Validation, Source Client Mapping Design, Performance Tuning and High Volume Data Loads.
-Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems are desired.
-Ability to work independently and multi-task to meet critical deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
-Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
-Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.

-Will need to be willing to work non-standard work hours occassionally
